Silent Auction for AVHS Healthcare Scholarship a Success
Meade, KS – On Saturday, April 9, 2022, Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) hosted a not-for-profit fundraising event for the first annual Artesian Valley Health System Healthcare Scholarship. The event consisted of a silent auction at the Meade County Health Fair at the Meade Grade School. Many people looked at the silent auction items as they waited in line for their labs to be drawn. The silent auction closed at 11:30 am. After totaling all bids and cash donations, more than $2,700 was raised for the scholarship fund.
To make our silent auction a reality, we reached out to businesses to consider supporting our auction by donating merchandise or service their company provides. As a result, we received tickets to the Live to Rock Show in Dodge City, handmade marbles, quilts, gift cards, homemade cheesecakes, pies, gift baskets, VIP level tickets to the Wichita Thunder Hockey team, and more. Silent auction donors included: 5 Chicks and a Hen, Plains, JKL Construction, Plains, The Cheesecake Lady, Meade, Nana’s Pies, Meade, Honeycomb Quilts, Meade, Liquor Ranch, Meade, Pizza Hut, Meade, Arlene, and Shorty Ediger, Meade, Taylor Kroth, Meade, Tanja Thornton, Meade, Helena Klassen, Meade, Marlene and Andrew Schowengerdt, Dodge City, Somewhere in Thyme B&B, Fowler, Brianna’s Cafe, Montezuma, Coffee Connection, Montezuma, National Beef, Liberal, Dodge City Roundup Rodeo, Inc., United Wireless Arena, Dodge City, Wichita Wind Surge, Wichita Art Museum, Wichita Thunder, Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, Topeka, and The Kansas City Zoo, Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, JKL Construction of Plains, KS, and Coffee Connection of Montezuma, KS, both donated five hundred dollars each to the scholarship fund. We appreciate all the donors for partnering with AVHS to support the communities we serve and contributing to the future of health care.
