Second Annual Back to School Bash a Big Hit

Meade, KS, – August 14, 2023 – We are thrilled to announce that our Back-to-School Bash was a big hit this year! We had over 100 more attendees than last year, and we couldn’t be more pleased. We want to thank the Meade Church of Nazarene for partnering with us and helping to make the event successful. We received a monetary donation from Eitzen Agency – Kory Unruh, KS Sales Manager, and Meade Thriftway provided the water for the event. Their support, along with that of many others, significantly contributed to the success of this year’s Back-to-School Bash.

This year 16 booths were set up by local businesses and organizations from Meade and neighboring areas. Children enjoyed jumping on the bouncy houses, trying cotton candy, engaging in fun activities, and petting friendly farm animals. Parents, on the other hand, had the opportunity to gather valuable resources from various booths that were present. Shiver Shack parked their truck at the park and sold delicious snow cones. The Meade County Fire Department took charge of cooking the free meal, and our dietary staff at Lone Tree Retirement Center baked over 200 cookies. Below is a list of all the participants:

  • Meade Church of Nazarene
  • Lone Tree Retirement Center
  • CATCH
  • 4-H Ambassadors
  • Town & Country 4-H Club Members
  • Core Community
  • Immunize KS Coalition (IKC)
  • Creating Magic Vacations

  • Meade County Economic Development
  • Southwest Guidance Center, Liberal, KS

“I am grateful to all the organizations and businesses that took part in the Back-to-School Bash. Seeing 11 more booths this year was truly exciting compared to last year. This shows that last year’s event was great and motivated many others to participate. It is only the start, and I am eagerly looking forward to what we can achieve next year.” – Crystal Torres, Director of Marketing.

At the event, our gynecologist, Dr. Miller, FACOG, dressed up as “Dr. Barbie,” and was a popular attraction for both children and adults. Many searched for her to take pictures. The reactions were priceless.

“The Barbie movie has been a popular topic lately. When Dr. Miller suggested dressing up as “Dr. Barbie” for the event, I had a feeling it would be a hit. At the movie’s end, Barbie says, “I’m here to see my gynecologist!” making it fitting for our gynecologist to dress up as “Dr. Barbie.” – Crystal Torres, Director of Marketing.
