Meade District Hospital Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness 5K
On Saturday, October 14, 2017 Meade District Hospital hosted a 5K for Breast Cancer Awareness. The event was organized by the employee association to raise money for digital mammography equipment. The event was designated as a Fun Run/Walk/Team Effort to encourage all ages and athletic abilities to participate. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the turnout was terrific!
The event was truly inspiring with the various reasons people chose to participate-
-Showing cancer who’s boss in their own fight!
-In memory of a loved one who fought cancer
-Supporting a friend or co-worker
-Personal accomplishment
-A family challenge
All participants showed amazing courage and strength!
There was also a lot of encouragement and support shown between the participants. As people finished the race they remained at the finish line until EVERYONE had finished the race! It was a true display of how our community comes together and supports each other.
Congratulations to all of those who placed in their divisions!
