Family Nurse Practitioner Natalie Carrillo joins Artesian Valley Health System!

Meade, KS, – December 12, 2022 Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) is pleased to announce the addition of Family Nurse Practitioner Natalie Carrillo, APRN, FNP-BC, to our team of full-time providers. Natalie provides primary care services for patients ranging from infants to the elderly with acute and chronic medical issues.

Natalie completed her undergraduate studies at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas, and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She worked at Minneola Healthcare in hospital and clinic settings for eleven years. “I had the opportunity to work with some fabulous medical providers and nurses that taught me a lot.” Natalie also worked at the Meade County Health Department from 2019 to 2022. Then, she began her job at Meade Rural Health Clinic in October. There she worked as a Registered Nurse during the credentialing process. “The day I passed my boards for my Master’s Degree was my proud professional moment. That day was a culmination of so many hours of hard work and sacrifice. “

“I love so much about my job—first, the patients. I love getting to know them and their families, developing a plan, and seeing it work out. Second, the learning opportunities. Third, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn something new daily. Last, I also enjoy collaborative relationships with others in the medical field, whether in this facility or others.”

Her interest in the medical field came in later years. “I have not always wanted to be in medicine. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education when I graduated from high school! I learned that was not for me. Kudos to all the amazing teachers out there!”

Natalie resides in Minneola, Kansas, with her husband and five children. She enjoys traveling and attending and watching her children’s activities and sports. “I am most proud of my family.”

Carrillo is excited about her new role as a Family Nurse Practitioner at AVHS. “I am so glad to be a part of the medical staff at Artesian Valley Health System. I have been at AVHS for a short time and am so impressed with the staff at AVHS. Everyone works so hard to meet the needs of the patient. I am happy to be joining a team where it is evident that the providers, nurses, and all staff work so well together in providing great care. I have enjoyed meeting AVHS patients over the last month. Everyone has been so friendly and expresses hat great care they receive at AVHS.”

She will see patients at the Meade Rural Health Clinic at 119 N. Hart Street in Meade, Kansas. To schedule an appointment with Natalie Carrillo, please call (620) 873-2112.
