On Thursday, October 24, 2019, Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) hosted a free meal and trunk-or-treat at the Meade District Hospital parking lot. The event also served as a meet-and-greet for our new podiatrist, Dr. John Powers.
The turnout for the event was great despite the cold temperature. It was so exciting seeing the creative trunks and all of the kids in their costumes! There were eighteen different trunks, each was unique and made the event so much fun.
Throughout the evening, community members were able to vote on their favorite trunk. A few of the popular trunks included a gorilla in a cage hosted by Thornton Crop Service; a horse and rider dressed up as “How to Train Your Dragon” characters hosted by Amanda Barnum; an angry birds game hosted by the AVHS IT department and a haunted walk-through trailer hosted by Meade State Bank. The winning favorite trunk this year was cookie monster hosted by the Meade District Hospital Nursing department.
THANK YOU to all of the community members and AVHS staff who hosted trunks at the event! Also, a special THANK YOU to the Meade Fire Department for grilling and serving the meal!
