AVHS Hosts Community Cookout & Trunk-or-Treat

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) hosted a free cookout and trunk-or-treat at the Meade District Hospital parking lot. The event was held to welcome our newest physician, Dr. France Mosley, to our team and provide a fun opportunity for community members to meet her.

The turnout for the event was fantastic with an estimated 350 adults and kids in attendance. We’ve heard so much great feedback from the community as well as from our staff that we’re considering making this an annual event!

A huge THANK YOU to all of the AVHS staff who volunteered to make the event happen!

Various AVHS departments and facilities hosted creatively themed trunks at the event. As a fun competition, community members were able to vote on their favorite trunk. The winning trunk was by the Meade Rural Health Clinic and was themed “Super Scary Mario”. A local teacher and the Meade Police Department also joined in the trunk-or-treat.

Additional AVHS staff volunteered to cook or serve food and help with other logistics for the evening. We are so thankful for our staff and how much they care about the people in our community!

A special THANK YOU also goes out to Meade Thriftway who donated bottles of water for the event!

The weather that day was just perfect and we sure had a great time! Thank you to everyone who came out to the event!
