Board-Certified Physician Assistant Jeff Flasschoen joins Artesian Valley Health System!

Meade, KS – May 22, 2023 – Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) is pleased to announce the addition of Board-Certified Physician Assistant Jeff Flasschoen, PA-C, to our team of full-time emergency department providers. Flasschoen will provide care exclusively in our emergency department and to all in-patients at Meade District Hospital. He will work seven consecutive days in a fourteen-day period.

Jeff is a trained, Board-Certified Physician Assistant who graduated at the top of his class with a Master’s degree in Medical Science. He graduated Sum Cum Laude with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry with an emphasis in pre-medicine. Flasschoen acquired his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri- Kansas City and his graduate work at St. Louis University in Missouri.

He has approximately thirty years of working in medicine, including fifteen years as a paramedic in busy inner city and rural health settings and fifteen years of Emergency Room experience. Jeff was one of the nine founding members of Pridemark Paramedic Services in Colorado, which has become the largest and arguably the most successful private emergency medical services in Colorado and the nation.

“I was fundamental in the development and success of the company, serving as a director on several levels.”

We asked Jeff what he was most proud of in his professional career, and he responded,

“You would think that I would say my involvement at the Columbine High School incident or coordinating a Coors Brewery mass casualty incident, but at the end of the day, I’m most proud of helping individual people, like when a child comes in an asthma attack barely able to breathe, and leaves the hospital laughing and smiling.”

Flasschoen loves helping people. Since he could first talk, he’s always wanted to be a fireman or doctor.

Jeff is married and has one son. He is incredibly proud of his son and his relationship with our Heavenly Father. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and firearms.

He is happy to be in the community, helping to serve our people.
